New Project

Here’s a new project I did a few months ago as a way to really test my portrait skills. I also tried to achieve a style I saw in one of my favorite artists. I even tried to incorporate a story through one of the verses found in the Bible.

This verse was one I wish I could have remembered this verse during the following weeks after my grandfather’s death. He had lived a fulfilled life by serving the Lord as a Pastor and a musician/singer (his website, continued by the family, is www.jimswanson.com) I had the notion that if God wanted him in heaven, that was a good thing. That we should not cry or shed tears over something that was out of our control and was for the best.

But did not Jesus himself mourn for his friend Lazarus? God has made it natural for us to do so, but we do not have to do it the way others do. If you’re a Christian, than you grieve for your loss, but also hope for the day when you can be with that person again, if they are saved as well.

If you are not saved, please think about where you will go after you die. This is the most important decision you will ever make in your life. Please don’t take this lightly. To become a Christian, 1. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He died for you and rose again to take your sin in your place, 2. Confess your sin and give you life anew to God, to do with as He sees fit. Trust Him, there no telling what amazing things He will do with you.

Here is one more verse to be of comfort: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
